She's Local for Girls
The She’s Local Conference for Girls brings together youth in grades 6-12 with a shared objective to support, connect and inspire one another, close to home. Our mission is to create an affordable, accessible, relevant, and relatable platform that features local girls as speakers and volunteers, teaching skills and inspiring growth. Girls with big dreams, become women with vision. Here’s what our annual local girl’s conference is all about – For the past nine years, She’s Local has brought together hundreds of women for high-quality sold-out conferences throughout New England featuring extraordinary local women as speakers and attendees. Our mission is to make each event financially and geographically accessible, as well as relevant to women in their own local community. In partnership with local schools, we are extending our successful model to include local girls! She’s Local Conference for Girls will provide a unique learning experience for teens that is created by girls, offering leadership skills, executive functioning training, a chance to see women supporting women in action, as well as inspiring our next generation of women. What Makes Us Unique? Customized For Local Girls Each local conference is customized to the girls in that community. In the four months leading up to the conference, we host local in-person and virtual meetups to gather the important topics that matter most to the girls we serve. We then ask local experts, including girls, to apply to be panelists featured at the conference. Once the topics are collected and the application process closes, we connect experts and create 4 panels featuring 12 local women and girls as speakers. Panelist Created Breakouts Each of our panels are made up of three local experts: real, accessible, relatable women and girls from the local community. We match these experts with each other so they can weave together their passion and purpose for a well thought-out and informative experience for our audience of teens. Prior to the conference, speakers meet to determine their panel format, title, description and key take-aways, all while being promoted through social and digital channels leading up to the conference. Volunteer Led Organization The work we do to connect, inspire and serve local girls is made possible by the local community board in each region. These are volunteers who are committed to supporting girls and making a difference in their lives.
