Roads & Rivers: An Americana Songbook Concert
Roads & Rivers: An Americana Songbook
Mayor Thomas Koch and the City of Quincy invite the community to celebrate the arrival of spring with an afternoon of live music at the historic Church of the Presidents and Hancock Adams Common on Saturday, April 18. This free event will feature a lineup of performances celebrating the soft rock and storytelling music of the 1970s.
The afternoon will highlight the timeless songs of artists such as Gordon Lightfoot, Cat Stevens, Harry Chapin, and Creedence Clearwater Revival, bringing together talented performers for a full afternoon of entertainment in the heart of Quincy’s historic district.
The concert will take place inside the Church of the Presidents, with the music also piped outside onto the Hancock Adams Common for those gathering outdoors. The church will have an open-door policy, so people are welcome to come and go to listen to the performances throughout the afternoon. There will be a 45-minute changeover between each show.
Food trucks will be onsite along the Common with food and beverages available for purchase throughout the afternoon. Seating will be available under tents on the Hancock-Adams Common. No food or drink are allowed inside the church. Weather permitting, people can bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the music outdoors
