Popsicles to Pencils

The South Shore YMCA is excited to welcome families to Popsicles to Pencils, a FREE Back-to-School Community Resource Fair designed to connect families with local organizations, health resources, YMCA programs, and opportunities that support children throughout the school year. Join us for an afternoon filled with family activities, valuable community resources, and plenty of ways to prepare for a successful start to the school year. We hope you’ll join us on Saturday, August 29, for a day of connection, learning, and community. Explore YMCA Programs Experience everything the Y has to offer through hands-on activities and demonstrations, including: Swim evaluations to help find the right lesson level Gymnastics activities Turf sports and athletic challenges The Empowerment Center experience, Show Your True Self & Lead Like You Mean It programs for teens Family games and interactive activities It’s a great opportunity to meet YMCA staff, explore programs, and discover new ways to stay active all year long. Connect with Community Resources Families can meet with organizations that provide important services and support throughout the South Shore, including health, safety, education, mentoring, and wellness resources. Pack the Bus and Support Local Families As part of Popsicles to Pencils, we’re collecting new school supplies and backpacks to help local children start the school year with the tools they need to succeed. Donation bins will be available at the Hale Family YMCA before the event and on-site during the resource fair at the Hale Family YMCA. Every donation helps strengthen our community and supports children and families across the South Shore. Join Us! At the South Shore YMCA, we believe strong communities begin with strong families.
