In order to apply for federal, state, and institutional financial aid, every high school senior, college student, and adult student who is seeking aid for higher education in 2016-2017 academic year needs to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). As part of FAFSA Day Massachusetts, Quincy College will provide free guidance, advice, and assistance to students and families looking to complete the FAFSA application.
FAFSA Day is staffed by volunteer financial aid and higher education experts available to provide families one-on-one assistance. Quincy College Financial-Aid staff will be on hand to answer all FAFSA questions and to provide guidance on the financial aid process, review the differences between grants, scholarships, loans, federal work study, and next steps after filing the FAFSA. By completing a FAFSA application, there is no obligation to apply for or attend any college in particular.
The services are free and available to anyone attending college for the 2016-2017 academic year; low-income, first-generation students are especially encouraged to attend. Many locations will have services available in various languages.
Families and students are encouraged to visit www.FAFSADay.org to view locations, dates, and times, to register, and to review a list of what to bring. Participants must already have an FSA ID user name and password to participate in FAFSA Day.
To register for the Quincy College FAFSA events, visit: http://www.fafsaday.org/registration.php.
