Quincy 2000 Collaborative and Quincy Chamber announce the Bruce Wood Grant
QUINCY, Massachusetts - January 4, 2018
The Quincy Chamber of Commerce and Quincy 2000 Collaborative announce the Bruce Wood Grant: a $5,000 grant for a local small business or start-up that exemplify founding Quincy Chamber Board Member Bruce Wood’s business sense and commitment to the community he loved.  The grant’s purpose is to highlight and help financially strengthen one of the countless small businesses in the greater Quincy area.

The late Bruce Wood was a Quincy business owner and founder of Wood Commercial Painting, a thriving business to this day.  He was involved with countless community organizations, which include serving as the President of Quincy Youth Hockey Board, member of Quincy Rotary Club, Quincy Chamber of Commerce Board Director, Board member and Coach of Quincy Youth Soccer, member of the Quincy Zoning Board Appeals, Quincy Youth Baseball Coach and Weymouth Lodge of Elks.

“We are thrilled to offer this grant and are eager to give back to the Quincy Community the same way Bruce and his family have always done.” said Tim Cahill, President of the Quincy Chamber and Executive Director of the Quincy 2000 Collaborative. “Bruce made a difference in the life of everyone he came in contact with.  I can’t think of a better way to keep his memory alive and to remember all of the good deeds he did for people, than by awarding this grant to a deserving small business and entrepreneur.”
The application deadline for the Bruce Wood Grant is February 9, 2018.  The grant winner will be announced at the Quincy Chamber’s Annual Meeting in the spring.
